Nahuel Huapi national park is in Río Negro and Neuquén province in south west AGENTINA. It comprises lake Nahuel Huapi in the Andes adjacent to the Chilean border.

This park originated as a reserve in the year 1903 with a private donation of 18,500 acres (7,500 hectares). It became Argentina’s first national park in the year 1934 and has an area of about  2,927 square miles (7,581 square km).

This park and adjacent nature reserve include a region of dense forest, numerous lakes, rapid rivers snow-clad peaks, and waterfalls. Among these peaks are the 11.660-foots (3.554-metre). The thunderer “El Tronador” and mount cathedral these place is being noted for their skiing.

NeuquénProvincia (province), in west-central Argentina is bordered by peaks of the Andes Mountains and by Chile (west), The city of NEUQUEN, the provincial capital is at the confluence of the eastern corner of the province.

The western part of the province has an intermontane lake with some stands of forest. In the east are large plains with stunted vegetation and numerous saline deposits. In addition to the part of  Nahuel Huapi National Park, the province has Lanín and Laguna Blanca national park

Apples, pears, grapes, and plums are the common fruit grown in irrigated valleys adjacent to the lower Neuquén and Limay rivers provide an important source of income; sheep are grazed in the west. The exploitation of petroleum and natural gas remains significant near Neuquén city and the town of Cutral-Có. Area 36,324 square miles (94,078 square km). Pop. (2001) 474,155; (2010) 551,266.
